Review of Dal Moro’s in Venice: Why Dal Moro’s Should Be Your First Stop in Venice

Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta to Go is a true modern cultural landmark for foodies visiting beautiful Venice, Italy. Founded in 2012 by 7th generation Venetian Chef Gabriele Dal Moro, it is a walk-in, a-la-carte, to-go restaurant serving some of the best (and most affordable) pasta dishes in a stand-out food city. Dal Moro’s is a place we heard a lot about before going to Venice. It certainly lived up to expectations!

Dal Moro’s is located in a small alley, located just east of Piazza San Marco. You’ll probably do a bit of waiting, but don’t worry – the lines move fast. What’s most impressive is how such a system of creating traditional Italian pastas, sauces, and flavors with such speed in a take-out type of setting can actually exceed the quality found in most Venician restaurants – which are already incredibly impressive, themselves.

How it works is simple – you walk up to the line, pick a pasta, sauce, and (optional) protein, along with any additional spices and herbs such as basil, pay for your order, and wait a few minutes for the assembly. There are also pre-built “combinations” that are both traditionally Italian, as well as some that the brilliant staff created.

Dal Moro has really exploded over time – now offering franchising opportunities with locations also in Barcelona, and four locations in Canada (really, can we not bring this to the U.S. guys?). They also offer really entertaining information on their website, such as homemade recipes they use (such as this Pesto Sauce from scratch recipe), and continue to infuse themselves into Venician foodie and travel culture.

The restaurant specializes in traditional Italian pasta dishes, made fresh daily with high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The menu features a variety of classic pasta dishes, such as spaghetti carbonara, fettuccine alfredo, and linguine with clam sauce, as well as more unique options like spaghetti with lemon and shrimp or fusilli with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella.

The atmosphere at Dal Moro’s is casual and cozy, with a rustic, authentic feel. The restaurant is small, with only a few tables and chairs, but it is always bustling with locals and tourists alike. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always happy to make recommendations or answer any questions about the menu.

The quality of the pasta at Dal Moro’s is truly exceptional. The pasta is made fresh daily, and it is cooked to perfection every time. The sauces are rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. The dishes are also beautifully presented, with each plate of pasta looking like a work of art. One of the most popular dishes at Dal Moro’s is the spaghetti carbonara. This classic pasta dish is made with spaghetti, pancetta, eggs, and parmesan cheese. The spaghetti is cooked al dente and the sauce is rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of salty and savory flavors.

Another popular dish is the fettuccine alfredo. This dish is made with fettuccine pasta, heavy cream, butter, and parmesan cheese. The fettuccine is cooked al dente and the sauce is rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of salty and savory flavors. Dal Moro’s also offers a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options, such as gluten-free spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil.

The restaurant also offers a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks that are perfect to pair with pasta dishes, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. Most pasta dishes range from €10-€15.

Overall, Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian pasta. The quality of the food is truly exceptional, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, you’re sure to enjoy your experience at Dal Moro’s.

With all of the excellent food choices available in Venice, Dal Moro’s may be one of the most delicious and unique experiences that you simply must have!
