How To Save Money With Google Flights

One of the reasons we travel as much as we do is pretty simple – we find cheap flights and hotels. Sound useful to you right now? We thought so!
While finding one or the other is possible, how do you find the best deals that are up to the minute on both? Our new favorite resource is….(drumroll)…. GOOGLE! Not such a big surprise, I’m sure, but you can find everything on there. I mean, it’s Google, so it’s obviously going to have some awesome technology behind it. You get the intelligence of Google’s algorithm pooling resources and information from around the globe to find the best possible fares and hotels – which come to you via live alerts.
So – using it to find great flights is super simple. Here’s how to do it!
  • Go to www.google.com/flights
  • Type in your search route, and pan left to right on the dates
  • The exact price of every specific DAY will automatically populate, letting you know exactly what one day cost versus the next. (Depending on your flight, the price from one day to the next can be HALF of the day before or after it!)
  • Once you’ve booked your flight, just look at the Google city view of where you’re going on Google Maps to get the best hotel
  • Just type in London, Miami, or wherever you’re going.
  • On the left side, select “nearby”, and type in “hotels”.
  • The hotels in the city will auto-populate with prices!
  • Zoom in to see more precise results on a given area within the city, then click through and book!
This is so ridiculously easy that we just saved $200 per person on flights to London – which is even cheaper than we get on our favorite website, Tripmasters (read our full review of Tripmasters here!).
Google is such a great resource for so many things, but we’re really excited about how it can give you a chance to see places you’ve never seen, revisit a place you love, or even visit family for cheaper than you can imagine!
